I, Mankaran Singh, am currently technical director & co-owner at Men At Work Stagecraft Management Pvt. Ltd. (founded in 1997) which is based out of Chennai, India. I joined the company in 2009 after a stint at the prestigious investment bank Goldman Sachs and having interned at Magic Oxide Design Studio, Mumbai. As technical director, I currently handle all the trussing and rigging related projects at Men At Work and am one of the few people in the country to have done numerous rigging trainings at Milos Structural Systems (Germany), Prolyte (Netherlands) and have trained under notable riggers and structural engineers such as Norbert Tripp (Technical Director of Area 4 Industries), Marc Hendriks (CTO - Sixty 82), Harold Waldack (Director of ICRC France & AsiaRig) and Eric Porter (Senior Assessor at the National Rigging Council – UK). Furthermore, I have been organizing and conducting regular trussing and rigging workshops accompanied by sessions on health and safety and safe ways to install temporary structures all across India since 2019. We have been pioneers in the field of staging, trussing and rigging and are among the only 2 companies in India to have a safe fully certified, state-of-the-art outdoor roofing system with fantastic load-bearing capacities that conforms to international standards. Our Milos MR5 roof system is the only system in the country that has been certified by leading structural consultants, Expo Engineering - Germany and comes with a complete static analysis. Furthermore, were the first company in the country to introduce ring lock scaffolding for the purpose of staging and scaffolding for events. Our staging is also fully certified and statically verified.
