Vijay Rathinam MPSE is a Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Effects Editor, and Sound Designer with over two decades of experience shaping the soundscapes of 160+ feature films across global cinema, including collaborations with acclaimed directors such as Brian De Palma (Domino), Christopher Nolan (Tenet), Peter Greenaway (Eisenstein In Guanajuato), and Len Wiseman (John Wick - Ballerina). He holds an MSc in Advanced Music Production with Distinction from the University of Glamorgan, UK, and is the Founder of The Audioville, a boutique sound studio in Chennai, India. A member of the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) and the Board of Studies at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, Vijay has earned multiple accolades, including four Indian Recording Arts Academy Awards (IRAA) for Gully Boy, Operation Seawolf, Wonder Family, and The Village, as well as nominations for the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) for Aftersun and the Children's Emmy Awards for Mech Cadets. His recent work includes the major Bollywood box office successes Dhurandhar (December 2025) and Dhurandhar: The Revenge (March 2026), and he has pioneered immersive audio formats, including India's first Auro 3D film mix in collaboration with inventor Wilfried Van Baelen. Beyond film, Vijay has contributed to game audio design for Infinity Nikki - Terra's Call (2025 iPad Game of the Year finalist), conducts sound design workshops at prestigious institutions worldwide, and served as a jury member for the Indian Recording Arts Academy.
