PALM DJ CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 RULES & REGULATIONS



  • Final date of registration: Friday, 10th May 2019.
  • Announcement of all final participants for the Qualification Round: Monday, 20th May 2019.
  • Date for the QUALIFICATION ROUND: Thursday, 30th May 2019 at PALM Soundscape, PALM Expo 2019.
  • Announcement of the 10 qualified participants for the final round: Thursday, 30th May 2019. The Qualified Participants will be declared at PALM Soundscape, PALM Expo.
  • Date for the FINAL ROUND: Friday, 31st May 2019.
  • No. of Contestants for Qualification Round: 20
  • No. of Contestants for Final Round: 10
  • Set Duration for each Contestant: 4 mins + (1 min preparation time). Total = 5min.
  • 20 Entries will be shortlisted based on decision made by judges.
  • Equipment Provided:
    • 2 x CD Players - Pioneer CDJ2000NXS2
    • 1 x Mixer - Pioneer DJM900NXS2
    • 1 x Microphone

  • All Contestants are expected to carry their own Music (Pen Drives or CDs) & Headphones with converter pin/jack.
  • Participants cannot Plug in any other musical instruments/devices to the existing DJ Setup during their performance.
  • At least 3 tracks or more should be played by the contestant within the allotted time.
  • Contestants playing Pre Mixed/ Edited tracks would be immediately disqualified.
  • Judges would allot a maximum of 50 points for each Contestant divided into the following sub-criteria:
  •  

    • Track Selection:10 Points
    • Technical Skills:10 Points
    • Creativity:10 Points
    • Confidence:10 Points
    • Crowd Response:10 Points
  • In the event of stoppage of the performance by the Contestant, the following rules will apply:
  • 1. If the stoppage is due to equipment failure and not due to the fault of the contestant, the contestant will be allowed to perform the set in its entirety from the beginning.
    2. If the stoppage is due to equipment failure that is due to the fault of the Contestant, the Contestant will be allowed to readjust the equipment and restart the set from where the equipment broke down. The contestant may start the set from the beginning, but the time will recommence from where the Contestant stopped. No extra time will be permitted in this regard.

  • Final Decision will be at the discretion of the Judges.
  • The Judges Decision in all matters is final and cannot be appealed or contested.
